Not a bad price for what you are getting. They claim it comes with a 10/100/1000 NIC which would be really nice in this price point. XP Pro installed with COA. 20GB HD is fine for the OS drive and office type documents. If you plan on keeping large video files or a lot of music, pictures, etc on it, then it will be cheapest to simply buy and install a 2nd hard drive.

As mentioned by hotcrandel - plan on increasing the RAM and you should have a DVD Drive available incase you need to reinstall the OS (although a copy of XP is NOT included).

Also, keep in mind that the PS on this machine is going to be an older generation and therefore not very power efficient. It works fine, I'm just saying.....

PS - I actually run a older Dell 8400 which has a P4 3.0ghz PCU (a 630 chip) and 1 gb ram as a file server. It runs fine in that type of use.

good basis to start a file storage pc or just a cheap general purpose pc.
as stated above though, dont opt for the upgrades on the site as much better prices for such upgrades can be had if purchased separately.

if the bios will let you, consider underclocking this system to 2.4Ghz and save a TON of energy without losing much power (assuming ur going to use it for basic needs or file storage/torrents). im pretty sure the dell bios wont let you oc/uc the cpu though as i work with a gx260 slim at work and didnt see any such options in the bios.

not a bad deal though for someone that needs a cheap, general purpose workstation though. good find OP.
