Have you received a ticket for talking on your cellphone? You can get a free headset.
Got a ticket? Get a FREE headset!
If you were cited for driving without a cell phone headset we’ll send you one for FREE. Here’s how...
Frankly, we don't think driving while talking even on a headset is as safe as putting the phone down and focusing on your driving. But if you are going to talk on your phone, we want you to be safe.

If you have been cited under one of the growing number of laws requiring the use of a headset while driving, we want to give you a FREE Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth headset. Offer valid for the first 734 tickets. If we do run out of the Discovery 925, we'll send you another headset.

To get started, simply fill out the information below and click continue. Limited time offer - we reserve the right to limit quantities without notice. Good for citations dated after July 1, 2008. Applies to US and territories.

That's pretty funny. Shouldn't they give them to us before we get cited?

Researchers at the University of Utah have found talking on a cell phone while driving could be as bad as driving drunk.

According to the recent study the levels of impairment are nearly equal.

Please be careful out there! The risk doesn't go down even with headsets or hands-free phones. The safest way to talk on a cell phone while driving? There isn't one!

I got one. Personally, I really think it's ridiculous. Some people can, and some people can't. I am a very safe courteous driver, i have never had a problem answering a call on the highway or something similar. I think phones are just as distracting as eating, playing with the radio, talking to someone else in the car. Life is distracting, that is all. Just drive carefully, and responsibly. But that is too much for people who aren't good drivers to begin with, I guess.

Plus, I still see cops driving and talking on their phones all the time.

Plenty of other researchers agree that cell phone conversations while driving can lead to impaired cognitive abilities...UC San Diego, U of Illinois, Johns Hopkins. Just wanted to throw some actual science out there...you can find some of the research (among other places) in the Journal for Applied Cognitive Psychology [wiley.com].

you do get in trouble for eating and stuff while driving. If you cause an accident and your eating, messing with the radio, etc. you are responsible.

We live in a little suburban town and I see people almost run down daily by people on cellphones. these are people at intersections no less, talking away and turning right into people on the cross walk! I see people fly past the school bus letting kids off and just yammering away on the damn things. I only use mine for emergencies. Nothing is more annoying than being in a store and some dork on a cellphone gives you dirty looks because you have the audacity to talk near them while they are on the phone.
I guess until the police come up with a scanner that lets them know who is infallable and who isnt' you'll just have to put up with the law.

Okay, If I wreck while talking on my phone, by all means slap it to me, in the meantime leave me alone and let the laws that already exist do their jobs.
