Warning about Chronoshark and warraties
I've seen a lot of deals from Chronoshark posted in this forum and was surprised when they always said that their watches had a full manufacturer's warranty. As anyone who buys better watches knows, normally if you buy from anyone other than an authorized dealer you don't get any factory warranty.
As such, I was really suspicious when they advertised a Tissot watch with manufacturer's warranty yesterday. The Swatch Group which owns Tissot (along with Omega, Longines, Blancpain, and many other brands) has a reputation for never servicing any watch bought off of the internet.
So, I called the Swatch Group service center in Secaucus, NJ to see what they had say. They said that they check the serial number on all watches sent in for service against a database to ensure that the warranty card matches the dealer number to whom it was distributed, and that if they don't match the service request is rejected. They said that there is no way they would ever service a watch sold through Chronoshark since they aren't an authorized dealer.
So be aware that when you buy a watch through Chronoshark, you may be getting NO WARRANTY AT ALL
