It's fair, even if it is a bit annoying. It's optional, you don't have to do anything. Move on if you don't like the rebate terms or if you don't qualify for the competitive upgrade.

It's called FAR (free after rebate). Visa debit cards are easily dealt with by buying gift cards to places you spend money anyway, like grocery stores or gas stations. The point of the deal is that you get the software for free (after working on the rebates and parting with your money for some time). If you don't like this sort of thing skip the FAR threads and look elsewhere. As long as you've been around here, I'm suprised you're not familiar with all this already.

Hey OP, good deal and repped. Might want to edit your post, it says version 3.0 then it also says version 2.0. It looks like the deal is for 3.0, which is obviously the newer one, so just might want to delete 2.0 from your post.

I just ordered mine. Last time I did this (a few months ago) I paid $20 after rebates. This time, I'm getting it free and will save it until my subscription expires. This is an awesome deal. Norton 360 v3 is not the resource hog of previous verions. It's easy to use and I highly recommend it. I've never had any problems with it on my home PC, netbook, or mom-in-law's pc.

You dont' need to wait until your current subscription expires. I loaded mine on top of a Norton Security install. What happens is that Norton will extend your subscription for the additional amount of time from the new install.

Mine says I have 458 days left for my coverage.
