    last time i filled out my asus mobo rebate had the same channel wide thing, and the rebate was fine

    If you mean a E5200 or the like, then yes, it should fit the socket (LGA775). It should also have no clearance issues in a mini P180, as I am currently running a larger heatsink (Scythe Infinity - 120mm fans) in my mini P180. I should edit: may also depend on your motherboard, as you need to watch for clearance at the top (200mm fan) and rear (120mm fan).
