Just worked for me too. The rep basically said they are doing this for anyone that wants it and I think the magiv words are I'm upset I can't watch my hockey on Versus this opening night. I didn't even ask for the package, he just said he could give it to me.

called and she just gave me one time credit of 165/- the price of nhl center ice programming.

Damn, didn't work for me, rep I got wouldn't budge and said that I would have to pay for the center ice programming. I'll try again tomorrow, may just be the luck of the draw with what rep you get. I hope I don't have to threaten to cancel again to get the credit.

just called.. he offered me $100 off so it would cost me $65. I said I still wasn't happy with having to pay extra to watch my hockey and he immediately offered it to me for free. Awesome deal and i get to watch my hockey. Thanks OP

Any of you who called and told them you'd cancel...are you all still in contracts?
I told my husband we should try this and he said since we have 3 months left on our contract we're probably not able to threaten cancellation at this point...Is it still worth a try?

I'd give it a try - cancellation is pro-rated at $20/month, so with 3 months to go, you only have a $60 cancellation fee.

I just signed up 3 months ago or so, and i was able to get it discounted down to just $40 for the year. i tried asking for free, but she didn't budge, so I just took it... maybe i should have said no thanks and called back, but oh well, $40 for something I'll actually use a lot isn't bad.

based on looking at my account, I'm not sure if they even know if you are under contract or not, without a little digging...

I'm still under contract for another year or so i think and it worked fine for me. Not sure if they took into account that i've been a customer for 13 years but they didn't hesitate giving it to me
