Viper Remote Start 2 way Alarm 5701 $113
This is an excellent price for this alarm. Retail is 499.99.

Only downside it is Pink, but you can purchase the replacement black caase from them for $13 extra.

Shipping is cheaper if you go through amazon.

Be sure to read this because it may contain answers to your questions!
Here is a small write up for you guys - hopefully it can help some of you out.

I have this exact model installed on my eclipse.
(Had it professionally installed last year - only mine is not pink)

This is an excellent deal - I paid $500 out the door for mine installed.

Keep in mind the install on these can be very difficult if doing it yourself!

I have installed a cheap remote start before with a buddy on a work truck and we did get it working correctly but be prepared to rip apart your dash and tap into some wires.

Things to keep in mind when you do it yourself

--This model is designed to be installed by a professional authorized viper dealer.

--You will not get a warranty or support from DEI (the manufacture) when installing this model yourself.

--If you have a transponder key(chipped key) you are going to need a bypass module for your car (you may have to give up a key depending on what kind you get)

--I had to give up a key even though I didn't want to because the shop that installed it told me thats the only way they could get it to work. A lot of the newer transponder bypasses you don't have to give up a key but double check. It worked out for me since my factory key has a built in key-fab which I no longer need since I have the viper. So I got a regular key instead which ended up working out for me.

--You may need additional modules to bypass your anti-theft system depending on what model car you have.

--This model WILL WORK with the new viper ipod/iphone ap - keep in mind this is an additional module that is suppose to be installed professionally and the only place I know that does it right now is Best Buy - prepare to dish out and extra $300+ for that.

--This model WILL WORK on a manual transmission -however extra steps are needed. Every time I get out of my car if I want to remote start it later I need to follow these steps:
Put car in neutral, put foot on brake, engage parking break, release foot then press the button on the viper fab within 15 seconds. Key comes out, car will stay on. Once out of the car you can open doors, get stuff in trunk, whatever. When your all done you hit the arm button. It will shut off the car and you can then remote start. If you go back and enter the car after doing this, the remote start will NOT work. You would have to repeat the above steps. This sounds like a lot of extra work but it's really not. I always put the parking break on before I had the remote start so really I just have to push the button. If this is a big deal to you, go with a compustar brand remote start. Rules will be the same except you don't have to push the button after putting the parking break on from what I have read. I think the compustar remotes are ugly so I stuck with viper and I really don't mind. I did find instructions how to turn this mode off but I don't wanna jack up my remote start and I don't mind and it is a very good safety feature. I might down the road, who knows. There may be extra steps to bypass the clutch during start up as well when wiring up the brain.

--I like this model better than the 5901. I had a friend who got that model and the remote although it has a screen is very big. It does have better range (I get EXCELLENT range with mine and is good for my needs, about 1/2 mile max) but it needs to be recharged all the time and the screen just shows a picture of a lock (it does say the temp which is nice) Not worth it in my opinion to have a clunky remote.

So if you are picking this up, please use MUCH CAUTION as this can be a very difficult thing to install and allow yourself unlimited time. Your gonna wanna allow yourself an entire day and possibly into the night depending on how it goes. Also keep in mind you will NOT get a warranty since this model is designed to be installed be an authorized dealer only. If you are doubting yourself, pay the extra money and get it professionally installed.

--I have had very good luck with mine, I had a couple problems at first because the transponder ring around my ignition in the car was a little off but once I got that tight it has worked just great. I have only changed the batteries twice since I have had it and I use it a lot.

Any questions feel free to pm me!

    Protection against defect...
No it will not void your warranty. I worked at Circuit City for 5 years as an assistant manager in 12volt dept aka car stereo dept and I can tell you for a fact that aftermarket products will not void your car's manufacturer warranty. '

You are protected under the moss magnuson act. This federal law basically says warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because aftermarket parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used. They have to prove that whatever was installed caused the damage. So to be safe I would have a professional install it so if there was a problem you could have that professional talk or even prove to the dealership that the aftermarket product didn't cause the damage.

I can tell you for a fact that most dealership will automatically blame aftermarket products for whatever problem your vehicle may be having. If something like this happens to you, just go back to the place that installed the alarm and have them talk to the dealership.

I bought the 5901 brand new for $230. latest viper alarm with a mile range. I was looking for a deal for alarm system but it was never lower than $160 for a 5701. If you need it get it. It comes with the keyless, alarm, and remote starter. Viper is good brand. Remember please get a good installer who can do the install. Well worth it

i purchased one form them when it was 119 a few days ago, got the alarm in 3 days time. Couldnt be haper other than the pink, but i got the other case.

This alarm is great cause it has a 2 way remote so it confirms when you remote start, arm, disarm and even when its going off.

Be carefull on the non 2 way alarms that have the mile range, if you bump your remote in your pocket, you can disarm or start your car without ever knowing it.

this alarm is also compatiable with the new smart start module iphone app

If you dont mind pink you cant beat the price. Hey your supporting Breast cancer!

check out www.the12volt.com for wiring doagrams for your car. Plan on spending a good day installing this alarm if DIY.

This is a Viper/DEI brand, i have yet to have a problem with them.
