And yes this is comparing my T240 in 1080p with my Panasonic 720p 32" Using the PS3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 as a control setting, the image just looks off on my T240HD, no matter how much calibration i do. I can't recommend these TV Tuner Monitors for TV if you care about image quality. And im saying its a pretty great monitor god phrozt, are you just trying to act like ICK?

I use mine primarily as a PC gaming monitor, and for that, I'm blown away. I know someone else with the same model as I have (different model than I listed), and they also have raved about it. As far as $ goes, it's cheaper than the corresponding 720p, so it's not like you're paying for more pixels. As I said before, if you're going to use this for only console gaming, then go with the 720p. Very few console games run higher than that. If you're going to use it for PC gaming (and possibly as a monitor), then go with the 1080p. My Samsung produces very good images, and if your source can push the 1080, then go with it. And I'm speaking for purely a gaming standpoint - things get quite a bit cleaner in PC games when you're going from 1366x768 to 1920x1200 (not to mention gained screen real estate if you're using desktop apps). I didn't catch if the OP mentioned what type of gaming he plans on doing on his purchase. Mainly I'm just throwing this out there because it does have advantages over some of the other listings based on how it will be used. |

I really like my T240 @ 16:10 ratio's 1920 X 1200, but when watching movies/TV shows, i really want to throw it out and buy a Dell Ultrasharp or HP 2407. console/TV/video viewing, not so much. But im very hesitant on recommending TN panels for multi-purpose (PC/console/tv) |

My only complaints would be that I thought the Xbox Dashboard looked a little grainy (which is strange because I was outputting at 1080p). Black levels are nothing to write home about (pretty par for the course) and the bottom vertical viewing angle is poor. Other than that, I've always been impressed with the picture/brightness/color. |

i just ordered the front page deal for the Vizio VL260M. it was $307 shipped and should arrive early next week. i'll post my review of it then. it has an 8ms response time (not the fastest) 1.06 billion color gamut, and both optical audio out (so you can use a mixamp/headphone setup and get surround sound) as well as a simple headphone jack on the side of the monitor (so you can use standard stereo headphones if you're gaming on the cheap)
the best thing about the deal is you have a full 90 days to return it to any Target store for a refund. so if you get it, realize it's too small and/or sucks for what you paid then you take it back. http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...?t=1640148 |

eek.. what types of games are you going to play? If you're doing FPSs (especially dark ones), you're going to notice that lag...

until there is a concrete way to have televisions independently rated and cataloged there is simply no way to find out if a tv is good enough for you without first hand knowledge. you'll never really know until you plug in your gaming system and play something with fast action (like COD4, Halo 3, DiRT, GRID etc.) |
