Is this some type of 1 day sale? is there anything special about Saturday? Can anyone think of a reason why this is on a saturday as opposed to starting on Sunday? Ill be at my local Walmart in any case

Couldnt you get the Arcade plus the $100 GC, then exchange the arcade for the Pro and use the GC to pay the difference... that wouldnt be stealing since Walmart is getting the same amount of money for essentially the same thing.

It's probably an obvious/noobie question and one that can be answered once I get to Walmart, but I would like to know how this works. After I grab an Arcade, do I ask for a $100 gift card and when they checkout my items they'll offer/tell me about the deal or will they tell me about the gift card after they ring up the Xbox 360. I just want to be prepared. This is will be a potential gift for someone's birthday and I might pick up another for my little niece for Christmas.

If their POS (point of sale) system is worth its salt it would charge you for the gift card once the package/promotion is broken by the return of the main item..
