From the looks of the site, I'd say you're better off posting your credit card info on a billboard on I-5.

I guess we'll let buyers decide who they trust their CC numbers to. I'll steer way clear of this site.

Cowboom is owned by Dealtree, which is owned by Best Buy. While this may/may not give you cause for concern, the site is legit.

    Deal or no deal?

What do folks think? Is $55 shipped a good deal for a refurb iPod Nano 3rd Gen? I'm looking to pick up an iPod of some sort for an xmas gift... $55 seems like a good deal, but if there's something better out there, please speak up before I open my wallet...

BTW - Are there any CB sites for Cowboom?

Bought one for my son for Christmas. Good enough price to finally justify the iPod purchase for him. He's on his own when he loses or breaks it, though.

EDIT: Never mind what I said about the tax; just saw they were owned by BestBuy....

Bought one for my son for Christmas, but at the same time I find it strange that they're apparently based in California but still charged me my MN sales tax. I seriously doubt they're paying that back to my home state. Gonna email and ask them about it.
Feel free to ask, but this has been discussed many times over... As they are owned by Best Buy, if your state has a Best Buy, you are charged sales tax.

That's why I paid with PayPal. If I don't get my stuff, I complain to PayPal. If they don't give me satisfaction, I dispute the charge with my bank and get my money back. I trust PayPal with my CC and bank info and therefore don't have to worry about Cowboom or any other such site doing anything with my info.

Just saw that and was going to update my post, but you quoted me too quickly to avoid the embarrassment.

Sorry about that... Was just hoping someone would comment as to whether this is a "deal" or not. Went ahead and went for it...

It was a good enough deal that I don't have to stay awake at night wondering if I could have saved another buck or two by waiting. Now my Christmas shopping is done for two of the three kids, thanks to SD and the recent Woot-off. Just gotta figure out what to get for #3....
