Yes .. that's my thinking too .. it is a bit unfair to compare a $20 meal that comes frozen and still in the cans and boxes .. versus a $40 meal that comes in dishes ready to serve.

Nonetheless, a great price on Turkey from WM.

I got 2 22+ lb birds for under $18.00. Great deal. Cheapest I have seen turkeys in my area in the 10 years I've lived here. Last year when Kroger ran theirs on sale for $.49 it was a nightmare...they didn't have any and we not substituting any thing.

Stopped by Walmart tonight and they were out. I asked for a rain check and they said they can't give them for this deal, but that the shipments come in the morning and they are first come first serve.

Watch them ring up the turkeys...mine rang up double tonight as there was a second UPC code under the printed one on the tag. I caught it before paying and had them fix it. The second scanned turkey did not have this problem as the UPC code was completely covered.

Was this the smaller turkey? I think the larger ones are .98

went turkey hunting here, but same deal in WI.. 98c for either the big ones (20#) and smaller ones (11-14#). "limit 2" it said, but these weren't even the cheapest turkeys in the store, they had other brands for 92c and 88c, with no posted limits. dunno if the higher price is due to WI's pricing laws or not.

the canned veggies are 54c here... they also have the stove top at $1.15 (didn't get those, prefer homemade on turkey day). we also picked up about 20 betty crocker boxed potatoes of assorted varieties for 28c ea (after 50c mfg coupons we had). i know, not on the sample "menu" but they were on the same shelves as the stuffing, and dirt cheap. they had those on markdown apparently to make room for store brand equivalents of those (they were stocking those new items tonight).. the $1.35 per pound (or less, depending on size) "chubs" of ground beef are still selling like crazy here (been that price for a couple weeks now).
