Anyone know how long I will have to use my 100k miles before they expire?
"Your BA Miles will expire and will be removed if your account is inactive for 36 months."

This means as long as you somehow keep collecting miles (by using the credit card for example), your miles will never expire.

A flight = one way? So the 100K gets you one round trip ticket to europe?
It's 50k for a round trip flight to Europe. I just checked SFO to Tokyo, that would be 60k round trip in economy. Availability seems to be okay. I can't wait, I hope my application goes through!
There's a neat calculator at https://www.britishairways.com/tr.../_gf/en_gb , but you probably need to be Executive Club member to access that.

How much do you have to pay for fuel surcharges etc for that trip to Europe from SFO? I'm just wondering how good of a deal this is once you add in all of BA extra charges and compare them to current ticket prices.

Call the number on the back of the card. You can probably merge the freedom and sapphire together...

Chase calls it a "credit line consolidation"
I just called Chase and the two reps I spoke to said that as of 3-4 months ago, Chase stopped doing credit card consolidation. Has anyone recently done this? I know I was able to do this in the past (before the WAMU merger).

so according to this...europe zone 1 is 50000 skymiles...is this roundtrip or one way?

so if someone wanted to go to europe zone 2...thats 60000 skymiles...if its only 1 way then you have to shell out money to purchase extra skymiles since you're only getting 100k.

I dont see on the site where it specifies RT or 1 way...

I tried to redeem my miles and started the booking process for SFO to Tokyo. I currently have 9,000 miles. I chose my flights to Tokyo and back to SFO. When I continued, it says that I'm 51,000 miles short. I conclude that it's 60,000 for the round trip ticket.

When I try to book a regular ticket SFO to London round trip, it tells me that the total fees, taxes and surcharges amount to ~ $166. I guess this is the same amount you'd have to pay when you redeem your miles.

I think 100K BA miles are probably worth $600-700 considering the add on fees and surcharges . Any one else agrees ?

It all depends on you use the miles. I value the miles at far more than that, in fact at least double your valuation. Four domestic coach R/T's on AA or Alaska Air would not incur any fuel surcharges and only approx $25 each or so in taxes.

Only if you use them for 4 domestic flights here in the US. Even then I'd give it more a value of about $1000 ($250/ticket)

Use the 100,000 miles for one business class trip to Paris and it's now worth $4,000 easily.

Spending $2k will result in 2500 miles for a total of 102,500 miles. That's only 2,500 miles short of 3 round-trip tickets to Hawaii (35k) on AA (on of BA's partners). You could spend another $2k during the last 9 months of the year to get to 105,000 if you don't have another good way to earn 2500 miles.
