I took the risk and bought the VSX-01txh from fleabay last year and luckily the seller sent me a brand new box.

I am now completely sold on Pioneer receivers. If I ever need another receiver, Pioneer will be first on my list.

Was this supposed to be a new thread?

Great deal, btw! I imagine they're "clearancing" out the older Klipsch line to make room for the new models this year. I believe the new Klipsch subs at Best Buy are the SW-350 and SW-450 which replace the Sub-10 and Sub-12, respectively.

Can someone explain what is meant by preouts are, and can you put it in idiot terms for me? Do they make it sound that much better? Thanks.
Let's assume that these AVR's are rated at 110 watts per channel (WPC).
If you have speakers that can handle 500 WPC, these AVR's taint gonna do it.
You would need to buy a separate amp (Yamaha P7000S, Behringer ep2500 etc.)
to drive them at or close to that capacity. You run a cable from the AVR to the amp and your speaker wire from the amp to your many HT speakers.

That was in response to another poster who thought I did not know that the Elite had the pre-outs. It was also in response to you when you stated I had to own one to be qualified to comment on the difference. As if that makes any F'ING sense. Nobody can comment on the quality of anything, or the differences between one model from another ON ANY F'ING PRODUCT UNLESS THEY FIRST OWN IT.

Dude, you are an F'ing genius.
ha...I look like a rocket scientist compared to you right now. You have neither a 919 or 1019 in your hands but are THE expert!

Are you sure it wasn't $249? If I saw a sub12 for $149 I would eat it up like a scooby snack.

How much power the speaker can handle is meaningless, what matters is how sensitive it is. You can run a 10W amp on 10,000W speakers, or a 10,000W amp on 10W speakers, both will work just fine.

You are correct. It was from this thread here IIRC:

I am overjoyed that you like your 919. Now, why don't you go back to your mommies basement and enjoy some tunes.

Looks good if Ant Online is an Authorized Dealer. Pioneer was selling this for $399 a week or two ago though....

    Repped.

Buy.com is on that list of authorized dealers, but don't all their products come from other retailers?

I guess I keep my fingers crossed this gets to me and works for a year with no issues if not.

Alrighty then!! Well that's helpful. I can get 10w of power into a 10,000W speaker (bet that just sounds totally awesome and maybe I could have saved 10's of $1000's and bought 50W speakers to match my 10W amp) and I can drive a 10W speaker with maybe 25W (ah hell let's get crazy and say 50W) of power from a 10,000W amp. This is definitely the best audio set up philosophy I've ever heard. Prolly explains why absolutely everyone is doin' it.

I still can't stomach how Pioneer took away the 7.1 preouts and lopped 10 pounds off this thing when compared to last years 1018. I can't help but think the amp took a serious hit with a 10 lb. difference.
Exactly why in the last deal on these I refused my shipment and went with a higher end model.
