Actually, Lora, I've used this website a dozen times - never hit a hitch. Just pay attention to what the minimum order amount to redeem is, gratuity, and whether it includes alcohol... and you'll see that the Yelp ratings for these restaurants is no worse than any average, random restaurant. Give it a go, I think it'll be worth a try for you as well.

Just used a $25 off $35 restaurant.com certificate today. The restaurant was fantastic and all three us ate for $10.45 plus $8 tip. I bought the gift certificate for around $3. Grand total = $21.45 (and we even ordered 2 burritos to go) It's a great way to try out new restaurants.

seems pretty prevalent that restaurant.com gives out these deals. 80% ($25 down to $2) comes up every now and then too. i bought five $25 coupons awhile back for only $10 total, and it came with a free 6th one.

this really stimulates you to really discover some of the great eateries in your local area! just make sure to watch the minimum bill requirements. most of the $25 coupons require at least a $35 bill i think. so these are meant for you to eat with some company.

Gee.. I may have to reconsider the three ring binder of certificates I own... for 7 cities around SC... lol

I always call the restaurant first to confirm they DO still honor them... since some are 50 minutes away in a neighboring larger city. We hardly ever go JUST for the eating... normally a Sams Club trip or other purpose buried in there.

I have used them in Portland OR, New Orleans, Detroit, Jacksonville FL, Tampa, and LOTS in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head area.

They ROCK!

Used one for a Mexican place the other day. Worked just fine and had no problems. Got it for 80% off too. Good times!

I got in on this back when it was an 80% discount. I've used 2 of the 3 certificates I picked up. Both were accepted without a hitch. Like another poster mentioned, it's a great way to try a new restaurant. Also a great way to dine at pricier places you love for cheaper.

Buy only for yourself. If you give this as a gift you are a dill weed. Giving this as a gift is like giving somone a coupon for their birthday. You don't give a gift that forces them to spend more of their own money to use your gift.

The way this works is you get a coupon that gives you $X.XX off a $XX.XX bill at a restaurant. It can be a value if you are going to have a nice meal, but you usually need 3+ people to get any value, or you need to order an nice meal.

In any case Restaurant.com is never a slick deal for a gift.
