Oh and by the way I have read all manners of hate regarding the PC version. Basically they are limiting online multiplayer to 9 vs 9, and have done away with dedicated servers. This means peer to peer hosting which could suck if the host has crappy bandwidth. I'm probably going to buy it anyway, but 18 players max is kind of lame.

Agreed that if you don't live next to a Frys then it doesn't help you. But then again if you're a gamer/computer nerd/AV nut and you don't live within 20 minutes of a Frys... what's wrong with you?

Pass on the PC version for now.

They got rid of dedicated servers for online play and now servers are capped at 18 players. 9v9 max. No custom maps, No mods, No own clan servers, No zombie maps.

Activision really messed it up for PC gaming. There's a petition with 195243 Total Signatures boycotting the PC version. If you have been a serious online PC gamer then these drawbacks shuold matter to you.

... Why?

You're at the mercy of the host's bandwidth, AND the host gets the 0 ping advantage. If the host bails, you have to wait 5 seconds for the game to switch to another host in the game. Tell me why that's better than a dedicated server?

Not everyone follows a game before it comes out. Some people just know they will want it and when it comes out they get it. These threads are also to info potential buyers of advantages/drawbacks of items they are purchasing as well.

Well said. Take me for example, that info helped. And the fact that it helped me during my read for deals - even better!! Time to hit up Fry's. I mean, you still have the value that comes from the single player campaign and the spec ops mode, so, still definite value.

This is true...granted I'm not one of those people. Supporting IW by buying the PC version will only serve to reinforce their actions.

More like "If you care about multiplayer you might care about what they have done to the PC version". I don't keep up with game news but was still planning on going and picking up a copy today because MW1 was so good. Now there is no chance Ill be paying $60 for a single player FPS with a garbage multiplayer game tagging along. Good thing I went out to read early reviews this morning.
