This is a decent deal but I already got the $338 HT-RC160 which is on the way.
I don't know is there much differences between 160 & 607 except 1080i/1080p upcast?

Does the ONKYO - iPod / iPhone dock (UP-A1) work only with Onkyo receivers?

I don't own an iPod and will want to sell it on Craigs list.

Great deal for the money, I was trying got the pioneer 1019s and got canceled twice (1x from Pioneer and 1x form ANT) This is a better stand alone receiver then the pioneer and comes with free ipod but runs a little warmer and less then impressive up scaling.

The thing is, upscaling is less important than you think. Upscaling will only happen on component inputs, so Wii, DVD player etc. If you have a PS3, or BluRay and play DVD's from that, then the upscaling is done there and passed to the receiver in 1080p then that is passed to your TV untouched.

So unless you have a standalone DVD player, or Wii, then you don't need a strong upscaler. Just my 2cents. Plus the scaling that is done is up to 1080i, which is better than the 480p that your DVD puts out.

Haha, I almost bought this receiver earlier today. This put me over the top, thanks. I don't have an iPod so I guess I'll be ebaying the dock, which look to go for $50-70.
