Is this a true auto switch? If so, why is there a remote? My basic question is this: if I connect a PS3 and a XBOX 360 to this, will it sense which device is on without the use of the remote? If so, I am in. Thanks for your help.

EDIT: it appears from the reviews that it will do exactly what I descibed. Thanks

To make the LCD cheaper to sell. Less features, less expensive.

Auto-sensing is a NICE feature (no need to use optional power supply for this!)...and it comes with three 6' HDMI cables, too??? Super Slick!!!!

Obviously if you had two devices on at the same time, you would need a way to switch between them.
