Good price. FP worthy IMO. I've been waiting for a low cost video card and now I just need to find a low cost system <$225.

Card is not for gaming though it will be fine to ugrade from on board video and is low power so usually won't require an upgrade to power supply.

The Kev Master would like to know his HTPC has a 8600GTS in it, would this be an upgrade over that? Thanks.

picked up one. Looks pretty good. Reviews said this will handle 1080p no prob and installs with windows 7 easy. Works out perfect I was looking for a graphics card today to work with windows 7 MCE. Also has HDMI out.

wouldn't call it an upgrade. both are capable in that regard, but this one could be considered an "improvement" in other areas:

for HTPC, the power consumption (1/3rd that of an 8600GTS) [com.au] and passive cooling (i.e. it's quiet. the 8600GTS i have has a loud fan) of this HD4350 makes it the better choice.

but, for 3D apps (games, primarily) the 8600GTS is much better [tomshardware.com]. so if this computer does see some game playing, might want to stick with the existing card.

The Kev Master finds out that this is NOT an upgrade over his 8600GTS in term of performance.

The Kev Master will stick with his 8600GTS since it is a HTPC and noise or power consumption isn't an issue at all.

Noise isn't an issue for a HTPC? In my world it certainly is.

Noise and power consumption are major issues for a HTPC, hence passive cooling cards and very low wattage CPU's are made for it.

The Kev Master's doesn't even sound like its on in an Antec case and he sits a long ways from it as he has a decent sized living room. He sits about 12ft away from it.
