Linkey [dell.com] Lastly, revised link on Home site: Linky [dell.com] Yep looks like they raised the price a little....... So the 109 deal is dead for now..

You talk so much about Netflix streaming. Big Deal.
It does not have enough bandwith to support HD or 5.1 audio. Why watch a film is crappy 2 channel? |

Because it's the only way to get netflix HD streaming. They only send HD to closed boxes like blue ray players and the PS3, not to PCs. I have a very nice HT setup but still use netflix streaming a lot, more for TV shows than movies.
As for the player itself I echo what others said, picture quality is about the best available but there are faster players out there. For me the slow way it reacted to pause, ffwd, etc was too much to bare. I now have the samsung 1950 which is much faster and does netflix too. |

I can't imagine downloading any movie to my home theatre (assuming a person had one) and being satisfied with 2.0 sound. You're just going to wait for the blu-ray in the mail anyways. Watching any non-chick flick in 2.0 would be similar to watching only the pass plays of a football game.... you're missing the full experience. |

This Panasonic is always reviewed as having better video quality than other Blu-ray players as well as all of the HD audio codecs. I bought this for $137 a couple months ago. That's fine with me as the previous model was about $200 last Christmas, and I didn't want to wait any longer to jump on Blu-ray. |

Looks like Dell screwed me. Never got confirmation email and when I called they said the order did not go through. What a bunch of crap.
