What's great about it: Nothing is great about Sony except for planned obsolesce
What's not so great: Having two power supplies in two different sets die within a month of each other

"Sony does not stand behind their products. I purchased two high end Sony TVs only to have both die with on month of each other with a power supply failure....Cost over $400 to fix both... so if you want quality and reliability look to Samsung or Panasonic or ANYONE but Sony. And call their customer service and spend an hour on hold waiting for them to return stating they cannot help you....beautiful customer service."

What's great about it: Easy to set up
What's not so great: Poor mother board & sound could be better.

"After 1.5 years, it will not turn on. I was told that some Sony's are having problems like this. I called Sony and since it is out of the 1 yr. warranty, they can't do anything. It can be expensive to replace these major componets.

I expected more from Sony and am very disapointed with the poor quality of this Bravia. I don't believe they are built to last."

    What's great about it: Picture
What's not so great: Speakers sound like they are cracked

"I bought Sony XBR9 and set it up. Noticed an inconsistent vibration sound that would continue to get worse. It sounded like the right speaker was blown. I took the set back thinking that it was defective. The second set sounded the same. It would get so bad that it would be hard to hear the voices in the program. I have an earlier version of this line in the 37 inch and love it (1-2 years old). Must have changed the design as this sound was terrible."

What's great about it: Great hd quality, Sound is pretty good.
What's not so great: A little to grainy on the regular digital channels.

"I used it but gave it back for the samung LN32650 it blows it out of the water. There is a fix for the sony auto diming. Go to sony style usa and download a software exe file and than select advance contrast enhancer from low to off. For the sale price of $749 its not bad but for an extra $50 get the samsung. I started out with the Lg 32lf11 and its a good budget tv but not for me...

The 120hz makes no difference in picture quality on this tv.."

What's great about it: Nothing great about a TV that has picture issues
What's not so great: Built in feature causes picture to become unviewable

"During night time / low light scenes, after a few seconds the picture dims to the point details cannot be distinguished. According to Sony, this is due to a feature that is meant to enhance the contrast. Something that obsures the picture is not something I consider an enhancement, and unfortunately there is no way this feature can be shut off. Sony's suggestion was to turn the back light off, but all this does is make the picture darker than normal to start with so the dimming seems less obvious by comparison. I don't quite understand why Sony considers it a good idea to make a dark scene even darker, but it's annoying to be unable to view parts of a program or movie due to it. I returned the Sony for a Samsung LN32A550, and it delivers a great picture that stays consistently watchable."

I called the Bellevue Wa store, they say on sale for $599.... but my local store would have price matched if it was less.

I will never buy Sony TVs. Bad quality and lots of defects.

Will buy LG or Samsung anytime.

Goood deal! Mine was at $599. Already set it up. Compared in-store to a samsung side by side. Motion video in Sony appeared not to be as blurry as the same size/specs samsung (32"/1080p/120hz).

Consumer reports rated this set very high

Many users post ratings and if popular the issues can easily add up as things go bad. I just bought the set and had no issues. I love the picture quality and the sony sound was better than the samsung model in a side by side comparison.
