Request: Now if someone would post in the wiki how to transfer your old HDD (with all settings, windows and programs) to this new one, it would be appreciated.
-XP: copy the <system root>\documents and settings\<username> over to the new XP install.
-Win7: Use the migwiz to go from XP to Win7 or between Win7 installations.
Inside is a Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT 500GB drive, alone costs $79.99 at newegg and Amazon.
The above is not 100% correct. There are multiple revisions, some with an updated circuit board with USB built onto the drive. In these newer revisions (B8B) the USB adapter is NOT removable and the drive is NOT usable as a replacement drive for a laptop.
This one is indeed B7B revision, easy to take apart. Just received mine, the same as the one I bought on black friday R/N: B7B right next to the barcode on the UPC. Cheers!
