Can you get a map update with a recert. unit?

Doesn't say refurbs are excluded.

Most refurbs have been already registered for recertification so they are often not qualified for update unless you call them. BTW I had a refurbished Garmin and they told that they sold them at the cheaper price since it did not have a map update.

Coupon did not work.

The coupon code is only valid if they sent it to your email address you have registered to them. Most people did not receive it.

DON'T UPDATE YOUR GARMIN!!! The new map update removes your cross streets. Call it the "Magellan-Garmin" dispute and Garmin lost. I bought a NEW garmin a week ago, updated it, and lost all my cross streets. Called Garmin tech support this morning, was told "Sorry, there's nothing we can do." Google the problem. People are angry about this.

Is this a good deal? I'm eligible for the coupon and I'm trying to decide whether or not to pull the trigger

How did folks get the coupon? I recieve their alerts, however I did not receive this discount.

Yes, I had to email Garmin my Newegg invoice and then they posted the map update in myGarmin account. Whole process took less than 48 hours.
