Been using N360 V3 for a few months now. I gotta say, I'm impressed. I used to be as anti-Symantec as you can get, but they changed my mind with N360 V2. I really like the backup feature as well, helps me keep my important data backed up to a usb drive and only runs in the middle of the night, when I'm not using it. Symantec used to be a hog on my resources, now I hardly notice I have an antivirus program installed.

Surprised there aren't more people posting about using AVG, Avast, etc... I'll give it a few minutes... let the trolling begin.

Since v2 and 09 IS, they have a nice solid product. Between this and Kaspersky, I now have to flip a coin because they both get the job done well enough. Trend Micro has fallen off a bit. Mcafee, well I dont know, I havent given them another chance yet since their 08 offering.

Yes there's also nod32 which is great but its on a whole different class of its own. Besides, these are full security suites.



As for Avast, AVG, etc.. You could use free software but it will take about 3 different programs to cover the basics(antivirus, antispyware, firewall). If you know what you're doing, then go ahead and go that route, hey I also do it on my own.

But personally, I get to try all different sorts of security softwares because I have to manage lots of different boxes from friends and families. Getting to sleep through the night without getting woken by a frantic phone call at 2 in the morning because someone has to send an email and their computer is doing something on a blue screen when they turned it on(turns out a boot time scan by avast), THAT is peace of mind for me.
