It's been 4 hours and I must thank you all for making this my best post ever. You guys are great and I'm glad so many have gotten in on this and have helped one another out!
You need:
a non registered e-mail address
a non registered credit card
$100 of textbooks in your cart - By no means does this mean that the books are free, the deal is for 3 Free Months of Amazon Prime. Simply remove the books after you activate the Prime in the cart and that's it.
There will be a point after you input the credit card info where you "Conitinue" and in the cart it will display:
FREE Shipping Upgrade for Textbook Buyers: Your textbook purchase qualifies you to get your entire order with Free Two-Day Shipping when you sign up for a special three-month Free Trial of Amazon Prime. Save $6.96 on this order alone! » Learn more
When you switch the option to Amazon Prime a pop up will display allowing you to activate the Prime Trial.
When you get the Welcome to Amazon Prime you are set no purchase necessary to activate 3 free months. Just remember to set the non renew option.
FAQ:
No the trial will be good to Nov 2, all it is saying is that it will not auto renew past that date.
Make sure you have added $100 worth of "qualifying text" books as indicated in OP
Yes. Eligible items shipped to P.O. boxes in the continental United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories, possessions and protectorates) and APO/FPO addresses with U.S. zip codes.
Log out, clear browser cache of cookies, close all browser windows, open new browser, go back to deal, login with desired accout again and follow original instructions.
Unknown I cannot find any expiration on the offering. I see it has carried over to 8/3/2008 so your exp would be November 3, 2008.
You dont need to turn off auto upgrade in the "invited" accounts. They are linked to the original account. If that one doesn't renew, your invited account will be canceled as well...
I have the same "canceled account" warning, but Prime works just fine; so, dont worry Thanks tenderidol
You may need to contact Amazon about this as my guess is that they are simply adding "3" to the month and not actually calculating the 90 days. As of 9/1/08 the expiration is 12/1/08
