I really, really want to get this for DS, but I really need to draw the line somewhere... zhu zhu's, bike, Nike's, when will it stop?!!!?!

i agree about the line. when i was little, we got a few things... and we knew it was only going to be a few... so we thought and thought, and looked and looked. we made sure it was something we REALLY wanted. and when it was under the tree on xmas morning - we were thrilled! it was so meaningful!!

my mil is one who buries the kids with stuff (and stuff) (and more stuff!)
generous? yes. but i've noticed when they get EVERYthing, they're not very interested in much of any of it. it's overwhelming.

so i'm one in the less is more camp.

you had luck on a bike? i'm looking for bikes. i see ~50 on bf for mongoose in a few places. but i would soo rather stay at home and put on my 1st holiday cd and peacefully start decorating (or arts and crafting w/ kids) than face the crowds that day.

well, my kid is at that awkward stage - in between 20" and 24-26"

    so I found a $49 26" bike @ Wmart

I'll probably go for it, since he won't be able to ride a 20" much longer

and i wouldn't feel so bad about buying a bunch of stuff for dear son's holiday gifts, but I JUST bought him a $300 iPod Touch 32gb for his October bday...

Did you check craigslist? Sometimes you can find new staff much cheaper then in the store

    Hi Kohlies!!!

I'm not sure if any of you have seen this the past two years, but there's a guy, akelnat, that puts together these MASSIVE Black Friday deals excel sheet each year. I haven't looked at this year's yet, but the past 2 years were made to be easily searchable by store, price, item, discount, category (electronics, tools, etc.).

Here's the link to it: http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...?t=1636990

Sorry if this is a repost. I haven't had a chance to follow the thread lately. School's been pretty hectic this quarter as I doubled my courseload. Hope you've all been well.

    Hi everyone

Ken Ober [yahoo.com] of MTV died? Guess I'll have to catch up on the news..

I had no idea who that was, but saw the Youtube video in that link, and remembered him. My BF says he used to watch that show as a little kid. I remember hearing of it, but was never an avid watcher. RIP
    Oi.
Remote control was one of my favorite gameshows as a kid (wow, can't believe it was 22 years ago since it first aired). Ken Ober was wicked funny, as were his cohosts: Adam Sandler, Denis Leary and Colin Quinn (I think there was a woman on it too but don't remember who she was). RIP, Ken!!

    Totally OT - needing advice

I'm on the fence about getting a "gaming" system. My hubby was totally into electronics before we had kids... but then life took over. I am looking at getting a Wii. Hubby has only recently had the X-box, but his is an older one (about 5 years.) He ended up giving his system to his nephew and hasn't even played any games for at least 3 years. He likes the war/fighting games like Halo, Call of Duty, etc. I wanted it more to use the Wii fit and more family orientated games. Although I really don't think that an almost 4 yo needs to be playing games anyways, I can't keep him from them forever. (this is why I am on the fence.) Question is, is the Wii well worth it and it your opinions, will hubby be happy too? I already bought 9 games from Target a few weeks ago with the sale that they had and now there is a seemingly good deal on the Wii and fit+. Sooo, any advice, opinions, etc on this would be very much appreciated. Feel free to pm, as to not clog up the board.

    Thank you in advance!

    Stephanie

Question - if I use my Kohls Cash while the 30 percent sale is still going on in store , is it going to make my KC value less? Didn't know if it's better to use the KC while the sale is still going on or after ?? TIA

^I would recommend a Wii if you want a system that your whole family will enjoy...we have one & our kids/my hubby love it...nice variety of games & the Wii Fit is a nice way to work out also.

If your husband like games with life-like graphics, he won't like the Wii games. They are very cartoonish. The PS3 has games he would like, and also games suitable for a 4 year old. Plus, it has the added bonus of also being a blu-ray player.

DS says Wii's are for "babies"... so I'm thinking the Wii would be good for you and your little kid but your hubby may not like it too much! We have a PS3 and it's really cool. It beats our old Game Cube and Xbox by miles and miles...
