Q: My ECB and and all other coupons didn't scan right when I used this coupon?!
A: The Duracell $5 off 2 Q is a CVS coupon with a 13 digit code. This coupon (like all 13 digit coupons) causes a glitch in the register. Any Q that you scan after a 13 digit Q will be no greater than the value of the 13-digit Q. In other words, if you scan the $5 Q then present a $10.99 ECB, that ECB will scan at $5.00. How to deal with this? (a) Present the $5 off 2 coupon last. (b) Have the cashier void the incorrectly scanned ECB, then scan your card again, then scan the ECB again. It should scan at the correct value.
Q: Do I have to buy all $20 worth of Duracell in the same transaction? If I spend more than $20 towards my limit, does the amount over $20 carry over?
A: No, you don't have to spend all $20 in the same transaction...you can break them into multiple transactions, your total will accumulate, and you will see your total at the bottom of your receipt. If you do spend more than $20, your excess WILL carry over to your next $20-worth.
Q: I got the ECB but I only spent $19.98. Since when did CVS ever do that?
A: When a common purchase would put you within pennies of the required spend (and all the items making up the deal are high ticket items), CVS will sometimes lower the required spend so that you get the ECB anyway. In this case, CVS lowered the required spend mid-week from $20.00 to $19.98 for this Duracell deal. This does not happen often.
PLEASE NOTE: Many have posted here that spending $59.94 will trigger your last ECB .. but spending $59.90 (i.e. 10x 8pak) does NOT .. you need the 4 extra cents. Bummer.
