I have a 655. It has same dimensions, though no multipoint (not that I need it).
The sound quality is not great, people tell me the quality gets much better as soon as I switch to the phone.
The biggest gripe I have with it is the earpiece - it wears out after a few months to a year and can be fairly expensive to replace. I got a replacement pack through ebay (probably chinese-made) - it started wearing out faster, I think.

Remembered another problem: it doesn't charge too well. Specifically, the "pocket" (which houses the set during charge) develops a bad connection after a time. It's possible to apply some contact cleaner to fix it, but that's not something I enjoy doing every few months.

No, it has a built-in battery - but while not using the set, you can put it in the holder which has an AAA battery attachment. Basically you recharge it from the AAA battery while it's in your pocket/purse. At home/office you can plug it into a wall adapter.

Alas, I bought this when it was a lightning deal last month, believe around the same price. It worked terribly. Everyone I talked to complained I was garbled and they couldn't understand me. Returned it a week later for a refund. Maybe I just got a bad one.

FYI, Plantronics is very nice about sending out extra ear pieces. Twice on 2 different bluetooth headsets they have sent out replacements for free. First time was over the phone, second time was thru online request.
