Microsoft Office Starter 2010 Beta testing
Just searched and didn't find any, so here it is! Please flag this post if it's in the wrong section. Thanks.

As always, be wary of online surveys and do not give out any personal information if it doesn't feel right.
I tried taking the survey (Windows XP + DSL/Cable internet + netbook) and got rejected. They did not ask for any information before or after taking the survey.

Please be fair to the developers by answering the survey truthfully. Goodluck!

Just got this email below (also attached) from the address "offers@officeliveemail.com"
A simple Google search shows that "officeliveemail.com" email is owned by Microsoft.

It links to Microsoft if you click on Terms of Use.. Also apparently I don't qualify (I chose: XP, cable, PC/laptop so not sure what could be wrong) and it rerouted me to Microsoft website so seems legit enough for those who qualify..

What did you guys put in to qualify?

    win 7 / broadband / laptop / google docs, open office / office 2007.

Looks like I qualified. I rec'd the actual email from MS so this is legit.

Though -- starter edition? wtf is that? Sounds like it'd be a downgrade from my full version of office 2007

It can be a huge competetive advantage to get a year jump on everyone else on how to figure out how to use Office 2010 like it was still Office 2003. Just like everyone had to do with Office 2007 .

Office 2010 is not much different from Office 2007.

I was in the Technical Preview.

Looks nicer, but not very different.
