Titanium Nitride is an extremely hard ceramic material mostly used as a coating on titanium, steel, copper and aluminum.

Ok, still looking at these. Anyone notice that at Kohl's it says Titanium, at all the other places I have found this watch (Seiko SKA389) it says that body and band are stainless steel with Ion Coating. I love titanium watches because they are incredibly light and comfortable to wear. If this is a stainless steel watch with some sort of ion/carbide/titanium coating over the stainless steel, I don't find it that interesting anymore.
Long rambling short, anyone know if the one at Kohls is the SKA389 model, or are there maybe two versions of this, one stainless steel, the other one titanium?

Its just a plating, like all Titanium watches

Actually it says Kohl's card in the title--it's pretty clear. Anyone who's ever considered a deal that had Kohl's coupons associated with it... it's a dead giveaway that you need a Kohl's card.

That said, it's not a great deal. As the OP stated, it's only about $20 below the Amazon price for the headliner. I do like the looks of it, but I'm already happy with my current seiko watch (also from kohls)

Some watches are actually made from metallic titanium, which is lighter than steel. One such watch is Citizen Model AV0021-52H. It looks more like a stainless steel watch, but is lighter. I would guess that it would be hard to find a titanium watch at this price point.
These are apparently made from steel coated with a non-metallic titanium carbon nitride, which makes them wear resistant (but not light). The coating makes them dark, which some people also like.
