Audible.com (Amazon) 2 FREE Audiobooks + 30 day trial free
did a quick search and didn't see anything on this. i think it's pretty useful for those who want to listen to books @ the gym, on the plane, or on long distance road trips

audible.com from Amazon is offering 2 free audiobooks if you register with them. you WILL have to provide your CC information and in return, you will get a free 30 day trial. these audiobooks are compatible with Ipod and 500+devices. there are over 60,000 audiobooks to choose from. there are NO cancellation fees, just remember to cancel before your 30 day trial is over or they will charge you 14.95 each month after that.

I did this before, got 2 free audiobooks that you can keep for forever, pretty much. Just make sure you cancel before the month is up. Works best if you figure out what you want beforehand, go in and register, get the books with the credits they gave you, and then cancel the subscription right away.

Or, you can always just check out the CD's from the library. Free, easy to sync as an audiobook to your iPod, and you can get as many as you want

This is an above average deal but not amazing. I did this same deal a few years ago and enjoy audible so I have continued keeping a subscription up. Normally the sale is for 1 free audiobook and a 14 day trial like on these links

Another free option worth looking at is OverDrive which is a service offered by many libraries where you can check out audiobooks and ebooks online and just download them. It’s worth checking to see if you library offers it.

I've had Audible for years now (since 2005) and the service is just great. I've done the library, but the little difference is about 50,000 titles. My library has less than 10,000 audio titles where Audible has over 60,000. Not to mention that a lot of times when I've wanted a title, it has been checked out. Do you count the trips to the library back and forth?

As a commuter of 1 hr. 45 everyday (total to and from work) I couldn't live without Audible. I have listened over 300 titles in about 5 years.

Go ahead and try it. You may want to keep it after the free trial.

I drive 2 hours both ways to work myself and I think I've added years to my life because of the stress books on audio have taken away from my drive. As of now I'm only doing the trial so I'm only considering keeping it.

I have been a member of audible for over 5 years. This service has enriched my life far beyond almost any other influence I can name besides maybe college. I give a big thumbs up to audible and their ability to make long drives, commutes, and tedious repetitive activities disappear!

I could't agree more. I listen to between 1 and 2 books per week while commuting and sometimes when I am listening to a good book I wish I could keep listening a little bit more.

Here are some titles I would recommend for your trial:
    If you like:
science (easy): A Short History of Nearly Everything, Bill Bryson
science (advanced): The Fabric of the Cosmos, Brian Greene
mistery novel: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson
autobriography: The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Franklin
self help: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen R. Covey
science fiction: Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card
fiction: The Devil in the White City, Erik Larson
    historical ???: Night, Elie Wiesel
