    Smith & Wesson M&P-15X AR-15 Rifle + 5 PMags - $899+ship+FFL
    Code4 has the M&P-15X rifle for $899.00 + $30 shipping + $10 insurance. No tax unless you're in WA.

For comparison, BudsGunShop has this for $1175.00, and the lowest on Google shopping is $1039. Google Shopping M&P-15X Search [google.com]

Also: Get 5 free PMags through the mail.

    Link to M&P-15X [code4lesales.com] - $899.00
Link to S&W PMag Rebate Program Info [smith-wesson.com]

The $899 price is good for non-Law Enforcement buyers. I called this morning and asked.

    Specifications:
    • Caliber: 5.56 mm NATO / .223
    • Capacity: 30 Rounds - Detachable Mag
    • Action: Semi-Auto
    • Barrel Length: 16"
    • Barrel Twist: 1 in 9"
    • Front Sight: A2 Post
    • Rear Sight: Troy Folding Battle Sight
    • Overall Length: 35" Extended/32" Collapsed
    • Stock: 6 Position CAR Stock
    • Weight: 6.5 lbs.
    • Barrel Material: 4140 Steel
    • Receiver Material: 7075 T6 Aluminum
    • Finish: Hard Coat Black Anodized
    • Chromed Comp: Barrel Bore, Gas Key Bolt Carrier, Chamber

This AR-15 variant is a semi-automatic firearm, not a machine gun. It is legal in many states, but some states, like Kalifornia, ban them outright or require significant modifications to the configuration for them to be legal. Check your local laws.

Be sure to read this because it may contain answers to your questions!
I post this wiki on every online gun deal I see here. Why? Because buying a gun online is not as simple as 1-click ordering from Amazon.com, so here's a little guide to help you out, as there is a little bit of legwork involved.

How to Order a Firearm Online (non-class III only)
These instructions pertain to most gunshops you will see online, and some laws may vary by state. NOT ALL GUNS ARE LEGAL IN ALL STATES! CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS BEFORE ORDERING!

    1) Find the item of your affection.

    2) CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS TO ENSURE THE ITEM IS LEGAL FOR POSSESSION IN YOUR STATE. For example, the rifle this thread is about is illegal in California because of its magazine capacity.

    3) Find a local FFL (Federal Firearms Licensed) dealer that will transfer the gun for you.
Larger big-box outdoor equipment stores will not do a transfer, so you'll have to find smaller gunstores.
Search FFL dealers by zip code and call for transfer fees [gunbroker.com]
Use this link to call around and find the lowest transfer cost in an area you are willing to drive to.

    4) Once you have found the lowest price for an FFL transfer, call the company you are ordering from and place an order for your gun. They will need the address of the place doing the transfer for you. They may already have the FFL dealer on file, but if they do not, they will often ask you to have your FFL dealer fax a copy of their FFL license and information to them before they ship the gun, or they will contact them themselves. At this point they will likely collect payment information.

    5) Contact your FFL. Have them provide their FFL info to the company you ordered from if they are not on file and provide them with your order information. The FFL will call you when your gun has arrived

    6) While you're waiting for your gun to arrive, search SlickDeals.net for ammo deals in your caliber!

    7) When you get a call from your FFL, go to complete the transfer. The transfer will include paying the transfer fee, running a background check, and complying with any laws your state may have involving the transfer of a firearm (including a waiting period or permit check etc.) Make sure you have your ID with you. IF YOU'RE A RESIDENT ALIEN (not a US Citizen yet), make sure you bring your Green Card in addition to your Driver's license...

    8) Enjoy your new gun!

The twist is only 1/9 so not ideal for the heavier bullets and the barrel is not the higher quality 4150 steel. It does come with a Troy rear sight worth $100+. A lot of M4s come without BUIS. Not the best quad rail but maybe worth a $100. So with $50 for the PMags and $200 for the sight and rail, you are basically paying about $650 for the rifle. Not my choice for an AR but a great price.

Thanks, but it's not accurate to say that CDDN has this cheaper. It's not the same thing at all. The Troy sight is work about $100, and that weird red dot sucks.

No, I'm leaning towards the M&P-15 MOE (Magpul Original Equipment).

I've held the -15X before, and the quad rail is NOT comfy. They're designed to be used with something like this [magpul.com], though, to protect the rail and your hands:

Or, if a warranty is important to you, or you don't have the interest in doing so, buy this

I purchased one of these recently. Mine came with rail ladders similar to here:
    http://www.magpul.com/catalog/ind...s _id=207

I would see how those work for you before you purchase other hand guards.

The AR-15x also came in a plastic case (fairly cheap and lightweight) that is good for storage. I would not recommend heavy travel with the case though.

I posted this in another thread but thought it was worth repeating.

I Picked up one of these last week, and May I say..... WOW. http://www.safetyharborfirearms.c...f_r50.html
No FFL needed as the upper is considered parts. I would highly suggest getting a rubber mouth guard as I think it loosened my back fillings AS luck would have it, there was an old abandoned jeep(at least we assumed it was abandoned) at our shooting site. They were nice enough to park it right in front of a huge sand dune. Well, It now looks like swiss cheese, but boy was it fun using the jeep to site in my new 50 bmg

I'm an FFL. I can vouch for this being a great price.
