New Sprint Family Plans and Better Pricing, Beginning 11-2-2008
Hey all, Just came from Best Buy and have good news (really). Despite a failed attempt to to get an override from Sprint, they couldn't put an HTC Pro Touch on my killer Fair and Flexible plan that is due for renewal (old retention special: 3-lines, 2k min, unl data, 7pm N&W, etc. for $85). The good news? A very helpful manager revealed all of the details about Sprint's new plans and pricing that go into effect November 2, 2008. She even gave me a copy of the flyer which I have scanned. I will post it if I can figure out how to do it. These plans will work with all Sprint handsets, including the Instinct, Diamond, and Pro Touch. The new Everything Data Family plans will be the way to go:

    Effective November 2, 2008:

Everything Data Family w/ Unlimited Data and Messenging
    $69.99/mo 1,500 Shared Minutes
    $89.99/mo 3,000 Shared Minutes

    Additional lines are $19.99.

This a big savings over today's prices - e.g. current 1,500 Minute EDF Plan is $129.99/mo.

If I'm able to add my 10% monthly discount I will be one extremely happy camper. Beyond getting a cool Pro Touch, I will not have any more hassles trying to renew an obsolete plan on a new device - something Sprint doesn't make easy. The best part, the BB manager offered to reserve a Pro Touch for me until Nov 2 and even promised to honor my 20% BB Rewards coupon. Can't wait! This is my first post, so be please kind. I checked around and didn't see any these details anywhere else.

Nothing to see here guys. This is a misprint/typo error in their ad. The pricing on the family plan lines for everything messaging and everything data are wrong. The actual price should be:

    Everything Data Family
    1500 Anytime Minutes - $129.99
    3000 Anytime Minutes- $169.99

    Everything Messaging Family
    1500 Anytime Minutes - $99.99
    3000 Anytime Minutes - $149.99

If you think Sprint is going to reduce the pricing on those family plans by $50-$80.... then you can dream all you want. Face it guys... this deal is too good to be true.

Take a look at this topic [sprintusers.com]. The OP in that thread posted it on 10-17. Seems he was right on about the plan name changes if you look at the attached ad. Sprint is just adding the word "Everything" to their data/messaging plans and possibly removing some basic plans in November.

Don't expect any price changes !!!!!!

Something doesn't look right... First of all, this would have leaked on SU by now, and I haven't seen anything there about these new plans. Quite contrary, some people have reported new plans coming out in November being pretty much the same as current plans but with new names. Finally, looking at the flyer attached, why would a plan with 700 minutes and no data cost the same as a plan with data and double the minutes? It just doesn't make sense. I think it's either photoshopped, or there is a typo in the flyer. For now, I call BS on these new plans because they look too good to be true, but I sure would love to be proven wrong.
    Better said than me

The attachment got me all excited too. Your right though. Seems too good to be true

Yeah, IMO this is a lot better than the old SERO 500 plans if you need more than one line. 250 additional anytime minutes in addition to the BB data plan. Probably look into this come next weekend.

This is amazing. Looking forward to switch over to the 1500 plan. Hope I will continue to get my corporate discount though.

Stupid question -- Does the $69 'everything' family plan include unlimited GPS navigation/Sprint TV/Music?

If so, it would be better than the two $30 SERO (unl msg/data/7pm N&W/500min ea) plans I have for me and my wife.

I am pretty sure this plan will be eligible for monthly discounts too.... Something SERO isn't compatible with unless you are lucky

Versus two 500min SERO lines it costs $10 more per month - but you get to share an additional 500 minutes.

Versus three 500min SERO lines it costs $10 less per month - with the same number of minutes shared.

My problem with this is that the additional lines are $19.99 rather than $9.99. $9.99 for additional lines would make this really a hot replacement for my SERO plans.

Wow I am going to have to change. I wish there was a way to cancel without an etf. So I can get a new deal.

Damn, this is way better than the Sero Plan. Damn it, I just called Sprint and added my husband's number to my account. He has a Sprint Account already. I was going to mirror his plan to my plan. I wonder if I could switch my plan with this plan and get new phones for us. Our contract is up in Feb. '09. Any thoughts?

It says existing customers can switch over to any of these plans without any contract extension
