Days 1–3: Singapore
The tour begins in Singapore, the tiny Southeast Asian island located off the tip of the Malay Peninsula, just 85 miles north of the equator. Over the last half century, Singapore has become one of the world’s leading financial centers and one of its busiest ports. It also welcomes more than 10 million tourists each year, many of whom come to experience the burgeoning culinary scene. Restaurants here draw on Chinese, Indian, and Malay traditions, and the influences tend to intertwine; Peranakan cuisine, for example, is a hybridization of Chinese and Malay cuisine.
You’ll spend two nights at the luxurious York Hotel, which sits on the steps of the city’s main shopping and entertainment belt.
Days 4–6: Bangkok
Bangkok occupies both sides of the Chao Phraya River in south Thailand. The nation’s capital dates back to the 15th century, when it was a small trading post. On a guided city tour, you’ll examine two famous historical landmarks: the 5-ton Golden Buddha statue, the world’s largest solid gold statue, and the enormous Reclining Buddha at the Wat Pho temple, which stretches 160 feet in length.
You'll stay at the glitzy, four-star Century Park Hotel, located in Bangkok's Victory Monument commercial district in the city center.
Days 7–10: Hong Kong
Hong Kong has often been described as a city “where East meets West," as it had a lengthy term as a British colony. Today, it's a fast-paced metropolis with skyscrapers set along a picturesque harbor. Dim sum and hot pot restaurants coexist with fast-food joints and haute cuisine in the city's formidable culinary scene. You'll take a guided tour of the bustling Stanley Market, which has countless shops selling silks, electronics, and souvenirs. The tour also stops at Aberdeen, a floating village of fishers dotted with seafood restaurants located on boats.
While staying at the award-winning B P International Hotel, you’ll be within walking distance of other world-famous tourist attractions such as the Jade Market and Temple Street.
