Bay Area jazz legend Pete Escovedo comes to Angelica's Bell Theatre & Bistro with his sextet, which includes his son Juan, smooth jazz guitarist Ray Obiedo and Bay Area artists Bob Karty, David Belove and Phil Hawkins. The master percussionist's music seamlessly flows among Latin jazz, salsa, funk and R&B styles. In addition to his many years as a bandleader, Pete also spent three years as a member of the group Santana, and is the father of pop star Sheila E. Pete Escovedo has long been a fixture of the San Francisco music scene, and is known as the patriarch of a talented musical family. He gained attention on the national scene in 2002 when he appeared on the PBS special Austin City Limits.
