Thanks carbon - great deal and deserves its own thread; I just picked one up at Sears. Model is Extech IR250. The Extech version holds the min/max value, which the Amazon one doesn't.

One other thing to consider is this unit uses a 9V battery. The Rosewill REGD-TN439L0 available from Newegg for this price when its on sale, uses two AAA batteries, which can work up to 18 hours...
