Wasn't worth bothering with. I hired an insured scrap dealer and paid them to haul it out. That thing weighed a ton! The effort to get it out was enormous.

I just googled it and there was a *wide* variation. Of course the further you are from the end use (forge), the less you will get for the metal due to all the middle men involved.

I didn't even think about the Craigslist route, but MISHNAH is exactly right - selling the unit on Craigslist (if you're able to) will almost certainly be your most profitable route.

If you're handy and willing to spend quite a bit of time with it you can take it apart and separate the metals by type then sell them to buyers of those particular metals. You'll make more money...
