It's not like there's a significant performance difference for the typical user. Unless you're doing heavy work, which I doubt 90% of the people buying this will, 5400rpm is better for battery life...

Not really, since you have to pay $50 for the gift card.

It says 8.8 pounds as shipping weight. I guess the laptop alone will be 5.6 plus the charger with cable, manual, packing material and cardboard box should come around 2 pounds extra...

I'm with you..save me $40/$50 bucks so I can go SSD or at least 7200RPM...the stock drives are crap.

What they do is make another order for just the gift card. So, you will have two charges on your account one for laptop (-$50) and other for $50 (giftcard). Since they can not sell a giftcard for...

In addition to the above, the 1366x768 kills this for me. I guess this is the best they can do for this price.

Pretty good deal. But I tink the 15R direct from Dell (with $125 Amex card) that came to about $400 net with a physical copy of Adobe Elements 10 was a better deal. It was a bit of work too.. I...

Also, as Joshua alluded to, if you want to go smaller, Costco has the same computer for $400+$30 shipping, but it comes with an i3 (and 4GB RAM). Saves you $70 if you weren't planning on using the...

You pay $499 total but also receive a $50 GC. Seems a bit confusing in how they list everything, but the end result is right. This way if you return/cancel the laptop, you get $449 credit back and...

It's almost as if there's specific major difference that makes laptops more expensive then desktops... I just can't see what it is.
