I probably also should have mentioned that I do wear my wireless headphones when exercising on a noisy exercise bike (the kind that uses wind resistance).

If you are open to using headphones, then just get a pair of sport headphones. Sennheiser makes some good sport headphones, as does Sony, AKG, etc.
