For the average user it really comes down to this. If you have a room with alot of ambient light - go with an LCD/LED. If you have a dark room, or can control the lighting, go with a Plasma.

There was a recession & since plasmas can cost more, it makes sense they wouldn't be selling as many. They don't make small Plasmas, so you need to buy small LCDs, this also could account for sales.

It's happened before. BetaMax was better than VHS in every way, but because of stupid Marketing tomfoolery, the rest is history. If we end up with a vast majority of LCD's, my eyes will hurt.
