That's why they make ear protection. And unless you're mowing inside, I can hardly believe that exhaust fumes are a problem. But then again, your old gas mower was probably circa 1920. Good luck...

I have the 18-Inch StaySharp Max model, and I just leave the clippings in the yard. Just by the nature of how it cuts and flings the clippings, it makes for a very even dispersal of the clippings...

It's also a great deal if you don't like loud noises and noxious fumes. I bought mine for $200 - 10% coupon at Lowes a few years ago and haven't missed my old gas-powered mower for a minute.

If my neighbor took out a riding mower on our 1/4 acre lots, I'd laugh all the way back inside. It's cheaper to hire a professional crew in most cases and even they don't bother with riding mowers....
