I'm 5'7", 165, and tailored works well for me. I have a slim and a regular.. slim worked fairly well, and the regular felt like a blanket. (I had to get it tailored).

Having owned a Croft&Barrow shirt from Kohls, I can say for me the additional $20 for a CT shirt is well worth it for me. To each his own.
