For video editing when you are rendering it is all done in RAM but yes I would not go over 16, if you are doing serious photo editing you will want a high quality monitor like this ...

^I've already couple IPS panels so I'm not worrying about monitors. I do uncompressed HD for video as well as 36MP resolution from my D800 which requires LOTSSS of RAM and processing power.

For this type of work you might look at a workstation class GPU rather than a gamer GPU. The rest of it looks like a BEAST!

Yeah, looks like you're building a sledgehammer to use as a flyswatter. I'd start out with EIGHT GB of RAM and then see if you even use that.

i'd look at benchamarks first. you might not see a huge boost going from 4 to 8 cores. depends how well the software scales. not to mention it literally doubles the cost.

That's a far superior set up just to run Photoshop and for HD Video Editing. But yeah that will work without question.
