Perhaps seek out an older version of Acronis True Image? Ebay or third party discount sites may have older versions that have been passed down and prices lowered.

No but you should be able to dump that image and then recreate it with Paragon.

Use the shhhh version of Acronis True Image the OP doesn't like and use it to read from that image file and pull all of the data off onto the existing HDD, then use Paragon to wrap it all back up...

I'm a fan of Macrium Reflect. The free version will image drives. You can also mount the image file as another drive letter so that you can copy files and/or folders from the image.
