Hmmm You don't need a lot of space for an SSD. I've been using a 64GB for nearly two years now and it's more than enough. HDD's are used for storage.

I believe you are right. The wifi is mini pcie and the drive is mSata. They have the same pins,but are not interchangeable. Looks like someone found a workaround, but it doesn't sound like it is...
