That's true now that discover upped their 5% cap to match Chase. Prior to that, the 5% category spending was on your first couple hundred, not first 1500. A few hundred a quarter was ludicrous. ...

Well Discover was that way prior, then lowered it, then freedom came in and did what discover had done before, and discover had to go back and redo what they did.

Yeah, they've always had that -- .25% back on your first 1000 or 1500 and then 1% back after. I assume they still do, though I'm not sure. I really use that card only for shopdiscover and 5%...

I've had the same Discover card for a decade and don't remember them having 1500 limits until a year or so ago. Guess I'm just forgetful.

discover with its .25% dividend is way worse than freedom. Good discover online and GC selection tho

Chase freedom makes the list yet discover does not? The chase freedom is basically a cloned copy of the discover card.

Yes, it's pretty simple. Discover for the 5% month deals, and shop discover, and get another card for all other purchases.
