So you're saying WD Blue 1TB 5400RPM > Segate Momentus 750GB 7400 RPM -- as primary drive. I ordered both. The WD was a few bucks more but if it's as fast/faster and has higher capacity this is a...

nothing, some laptop only takes 7mm, some takes up to 9.5, some takes up to 12.5 that seagate drive spins faster, so it will be faster then this drive.

What's the problem with 9.5mm for using it as on OS drive? Can anyone compare this drive with the Seagate Momentus (other than drive size)...

What is your assumption based on? According to the review you linked the Momentus outperforms the 640GB Blue on all but one test. Do you feel like th 1GB WD Blue is that much faster than the 640GB...

Because it is logical the 1TB is faster than 640GB due to higher density in two platters. This the speed of WD 1TB 5400RPM drive: http://www.notebookreview.com/assets/60139.jpg

I think Newegg would give us a giftcard for difference, but this seems to be from a 3rd party seller, not Amazon, unless they raised the price since OP.
Post #54792414 added 11-14-2012 4:57 PM by KoGa in Archived Deals
They did raise the price it is back to $90.56 now. Wasn't a third party though, I even saved a screen shot for price match.

is there any warranty or returns on defective drives?
Post #54788252 added 11-14-2012 2:22 PM by shiki in Archived Deals
What? The drive has 2 year warranty from western digital. and it should be covered with 30 day return policy with amazon.

No, amazon is very strict about it. If the drive is defective upon arrival you are stuck with it... they make cool paper weights though!
