Are your speakers A enabled? There should be a Box with A and a box with B on the display, you can push the SP A/B button to cycle the setting. B is a stereo pair only so I'd imagine in B only mode...

IE you have a sub that doesn't have a built in amp? I'm pretty sure most receivers on the market other than ones that come with low end HTIB setups wouldn't have a channel for the sub.

I'm not sure there's a receiver made that will "downconvert" HDMI to component. And this won't even upconvert analog to HDMI (as most low end recievers dont). I think your only choice to output...
