But you know, there is not too many 830 on the market right now. I would prefer a 830 deal, however, nobody can guarantee there will be one.

Ummm, how? The link goes directly to icemoney's website. I've never heard of the website before but it seems to be legit according to google. I think your just being a nutjob, like your username's...

So I spoke to a CS and they agreed to do a one-time exception because of the price drop and coupon code, so I got $50 back out of the $70. Not bad considering.

Not if you can believe Crucial (I think it's them). According to CES reports, they're releasing a 1TB SSD for $600 list price in the next 1-2 months... Of course 500GB and down will be less as...

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this one. Not sure if the price is super slick though.

Ugh, I bought these on Friday last week and they've already been shipped out... doubt Newegg CS would reimburse. :/

Check with your credit card. Rarely spoken of, even on slickdeals, is the credit card price protection. Some cards require it to be the same store, while others I believe allow you to price match...

1. It is getting increasingly hard to find 830's for sale at a reasonable price. 2. See attached pictures for spec comparisons. There are some fairly sizable ones. Samsung is rightly the king...

If I remember correctly, the 840 Pros consume a ton less power than the 830s which won't matter for most desktop users but it should make a nice difference on battery life for an ultrabook.

Haha, so it was written... on slickdeals you will be screwed when you think a "deal" is a deal but then you find out there's an even better deal the next day. I feel sorry for the people who bought...

Am I missing something with all these 840 PRO posts? Performance benchmarks show it as a negligible improvement over the preceding 830. Why is it worth the $70 more when there will be no noticeable...

This is the best price so far. Yes, it will be much cheaper later. Yes, it will be replaced by something better. Thus goes the world of tech. In for 1.

What is the point of arguing over an 830 versus 840 with "performance?" The 840 is atleast 100MB/s or more on some benches. Maybe in real world performances, it doesn't matter too much--but that can...

On late 2012, the 256G samsung 830 is about $140.... Now, it is out of stock. On late 2012, a $130 256G SSD could appear on front page, now, $160 can. I have been waiting too long since last year....

Is it still considered a deal even with tax?
Post #56864062 added 01-15-2013 10:15 AM by PocketsThick in Archived Deals
Your 830 only comes with a 3 year warranty, this comes with a 5 year warranty, this is one of the fastest drives available AND it includes AES 256-bit full-disk encryption.

Wait for the "pro" premium to die down. The performance benefit from these does not justify their price for 99% of us. Happy as heck here with my .50/GB striped 120s.
Post #56865716 added 01-15-2013 11:17 AM by Ignatius in Archived Deals
It'd be $70 altogether, since I bought two at full price. Although I doubt Newegg's own card would do it, since I used that. Ah well, might as well ask and see.

Yup.. it is the lowest we've seen. I also believe it can go lower, but just don't know when. I'm guessing when other manufacturers release newer models, it'll be cheaper. But right now, it looks like...

Got my 256gb 830 for around 160 around Xmas. Stopped paying attention to deals around then but if a deal can't be had on an 830 for around that same 160 mark, I can see leaning towards an 840 pro as...
