Almost $159 (after TX 8.25% tax and budget shipping) for 240GB .. I'm passing at effective $0.66 per GB.

Short answer: yes. You can find a better $/GB deal but you probably won't find this price on this particular SSD for a while. This is one of the fastest SSDs out there so think of it as you're...

I wish Newegg would match this. Shipping and tax bring this to $156 AR for me, not even as good as last weeks deal ($155AR) from the egg.

Oh, my mistake. I wasn't aware that TD consolidated all of their websites.
Post #57295242 added 02-01-2013 10:24 AM by mxhoang in Archived Deals
According to the most current reviews on TD's site, they seem pretty stable. The SandForce controller that this drive (and many other drives) used historically had issues, but this product is now...

Haha..good catch on the cooler. Now time to review the 3* reviews on Amazon. Some one here pointed out that *happy* people don't come to leave a review,it is usually the *grumpy* ones. :)

That's true, if you bought an item and it worked like expected the chances you would go out of your way to praise the item is lower than if you had a bad experience and now you want to blame someone...

This should go front page. This is a higher tier SSD than any that have hit the $0.50/GB mark. This is one of the studly SSDs (yes, this is better than 840 Pro).

I'm still running my original Vertex after years of 24/7 use and have also been running a Vertex 3 24/7 for over a year. No problems with OCZ here. The excessive OCZ negativity is getting abit tired.

Possibly, barring any issue, this uses toggle NAND which should run faster and last longer than the "cheaper" nand used in the 840 (non pro version)

Try CompUSA, Global Computers, or Circuit City. You might be able to get it without tax from one of those sites. They are all sister sites to TigerDirect.
Post #57355232 added 02-04-2013 10:02 AM by billbillw in Archived Deals
After the 1st of the year, Circuit City and CompUSA were both eliminated and consolidated into Tiger Direct. The websites now just redirect to TD. Global Computer is still there, but they don't have...

3 eggs on Newegg is a concern?
Post #57299422 added 02-01-2013 12:43 PM by Deals4Lyfe in Archived Deals

Have you heard that old adage? "No news is good news." Maybe the same applies to reviews.
Such a tempting deal but i just got a 256GB Samsung 840 pro to go with my 120GB intel SSD, so i think ill pass on this one.
Post #57294590 added 02-01-2013 10:01 AM by koidy in Archived Deals
i'm really tempted too, this looks like its faster than samsungs 840 250gb but i heard this drive has reliability issues?
