I'd take it at the price if Pro was included. I will just need to be patient.

Anyone know if the graphics card can handle 2 monitors?

Don't think they have sold a dell with a 5870 in some time. Probably never in an 8500, maybe in a 8300. You got it from Dudeez! Would have been a nice 'free" upgrade from the 7570. ...

My son plays Diablo 3 and has been asking for a new computer. Will he be happy with this? Thanks!

If it were for me I would. But for a client.... best to screw it down than let them screw it up .....

Uncharted territory for me but you would need an adapter and that should theoretically work unsure about retaining SATA3 speeds. Also most of the adapters appear to be geared towards using a mSATA...

If only it had Windows 7 available. Not too comfortable giving Windows 8 to my boss.

very true...i tried to do this but even after purchasing most of my items from microcenter and getting a cheapo 6450 GPU for the time being (and a clearanced one at that) i couldn't bring the price...

Comes with windows 8 = no buy. What a crap OS. At least refurbs / outlet items should slowly get cheaper as they try to get rid of stock Windows 7 :)

The reason to go pro has to do with joining a domain at work. It doesn't have anything to do with functionality (at least in my case).

http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensing/sblicensing/pages/downgrade_rights.aspx#fbid=2OL7h-PenxE It's vague, but it does specifically mention Windows 8 Pro while omitting mention of any other...

I was informed that if you upgrade to Win 8 Pro, you can downgrade to 7 pro for free.

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=fxdwpp11&cs=19&dgvcode=ss&c=US&l=EN This is a really good combo deal if you want an i7 desktop with a dedicated (decent starter) graphics card...

Yeah, I'd dig this without the monitor. I really don't want to go through the hassle of reselling it. This is a pretty good deal though if you do want both, I'm surprised it hasn't seen more love.

Found it on sale without the monitor as well for $699. Which also kinda poops on the original deal by $10-30 since you can get a non-Dell IPS 23" for $180ish most likely. >.>...

I've been using W8 with ClassicShell for a while. Works well enough that I wouldn't bother with an upgrade to Pro and grade to W7. I do agree with a lot of other people that it feels kind of weird...

Does W8 (non-pro) have built in backup utilities? I know in W7 you needed pro to get those built in...yes, I know I can use third party software, and that software is probably better - but just...

How many 3.5 HDD can fit in this machine?
Post #57861818 added 02-27-2013 9:21 AM by urbach in Archived Deals
Right. I know I can fit the puzzle pieces together, I just wouldn't know what the hell to do if I tried to turn it on and nothing happened afterward. :) I'm sort of at the midstage... I use a...
Post #57861882 added 02-27-2013 9:23 AM by urbach in Archived Deals
It's probably more a matter of how many 3.5 HDD the PSU can power, which is probably less than fit in the case.

Yea, but it adds another $70 to the deal... Every little bit makes the deal less warm.
